Whether a grad application asks you to write a personal statement or statement of purpose, we know that figuring out how to approach it and what to write can be challenging. We’re here to help you get started.

  • The different types of application essays graduate schools may ask you to write
  • The purpose of the essay(s) within the content of the application
  • Strategies to get started on, draft, and revise your essays
  • The resources at CCE, Columbia, and beyond you can use for support in your writing process
