From Southfield and West Campus to nearby East Campus, we were on the move this academic year to answer your career questions!

Thanks to our awesome partners at Residential Life and Columbia College, this year we brought 17 programs to res halls across campus.

It’s hard to pick favorites, but here are a few highlights:

  • Ten (10!) Senior Chat & Chew events in the EC lobby, where 200 seniors stopped by for Insomnia cookies and quick questions about interviewing, grad school, the job search, and more. Thank you to all the seniors who stopped by to tell us about your post-grad plans!

  • Our four-part Summer Planning for First-Years series in John Jay Lounge, which covered career exploration, internship search strategies, resume-writing, and more—all specifically for first-year undergrads. We especially enjoyed hearing from all of our upperclassmen panelists about what they did their first summer. We’re definitely adopting SEAS senior Amaris Benavidez’s “Fridays for the Future” for our own professional development!

So many of you!

  • All the headshots! Though Southfield first-years might have had the prime weather for their photos outside John Jay, the McBain sophomores who stopped by en route to an info session downtown sure looked sharp in their professional getup. Seniors, well played with your suit jackets and sweatpants. Plus, our RA partners reported that their headshots event in Schapiro was a smashing success. If you’re still building out your LinkedIn or LionSHARE profile with your new headshot, we’re happy to help.
  • Harry Potter resume-building and ice-cream social with the National Residence Hall Honorary in Schapiro. What more can we say? If we were in HR at the Ministry of Magic, we’d definitely have given those Aurors a promotion.
