Thinking about a career in the arts or arts administration? Are you exploring ways to use your passion or major in the arts or Asian cultures at work? If so, this site visit is a can’t miss event for you!

Right off the 1 train in Chelsea, The Rubin Museum of Art is an arts and cultural hub in which inspires personal connections to the ideas, cultures, and art of the Himalayas, India, and neighboring regions in the context of world cultures. Innovative programming such as the Dream-Over (sleep next to art), and Math & Mandalas (teaching kids about geometry and mathematical structures of the mandala) as well as films, concerts, and on-stage conversations invite you to engage deeply with art, history, and culture.

On this visit you will learn about the departments that keep a museum running, such as:

  • Education
  • Publications
  • Curatoration
  • Collection Management
  • External Affairs
  • Philanthropy
  • Communications/Media Relations

*Internships are available all year round.

We will also take a private tour of the museum. You can ponder “Sacred Spaces” or listen with your whole body at “The World is Sound” exhibits. Emphasizing cross-cultural connections, the Rubin is a space to contemplate ideas that extend across history and span human cultures.
