CCE Partners with Alumni to Offer Students Interview Preparation
January 15, 2013
The 2013 mock interviews are coming back to the Center for Career Education (CCE) starting on January 30th. The mock interviews are a chance for students to prepare and practice interviewing for upcoming summer internship or full-time job opportunities.
Because interviews can be one of the most intimidating parts of any job or internship search, CCE career counselors will partner with Columbia alumni to provide over 100 interviews to students on January 30th, February 6th, and February 12th. Mock interviews are a great way to gain experience, practice interview skills, receive feedback, and improve performance.
Many of the over 200 students who have participated in the past attribute the mock interviews in helping them better prepare for future interviews with more confidence, skills, and knowledge for the interview process. Not only did students attest to how helpful the interviews were, they rated both counselors and alumni as very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
With the skills picked up from the mock interview program, students have been able to find jobs even “under the economical situation that we are going through.” Students who have participated in the past remarked "I really enjoyed having a mock interview with you. The points you told me are what I would never know without your help. For example, I should have listened to your questions more carefully." -GSAS, '15
