Amina Forde, CC 2010
Major: Neuroscience
Internship Organization: Enlighten - Action for Epilepsy
Amina, a Neuroscience major and Kluge scholar at Columbia, has volunteered in local hospitals for the past five years. She interned in the neurology department of North Kansas City Hospital, where she developed her passion for neuroscience and medicine. Last summer she participated in Columbia's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship during which she researched neurons using the model organism C. elegans. At that time she was also an Academic Associate, helping to conduct studies to improve hospital care. For the past two years Amina has helped with Dance Marathon to raise money for AIDS treatment in Africa. In addition to continuing to work in the same lab researching neurons, she is currently an intern for the Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Project where she interviews people who have had aneurisms. After she returns from her internship with Enlighten Hong Kong Amina will be a Crew Chief for the 2009 New Student Orientation Program.

David was born in China and grew up in the quaint town of Wellesley, Massachusetts. He chose to be a math major because of the subject's intellectual rigor and logical elegance. He has recently taken an academic interest in rediscovering Chinese language and history. David has had a great time being a reporter and writer for the Columbia Daily Spectator. His interests include traveling to new places, meeting diverse types of people, and constantly being stimulated by new ideas.

Nayia
Moysidis is a Greek-American rising junior in Columbia College's

major, Moysidis is intrigued by the film industry and the arts. CEO London grants Moysidis the opportunity to
combine her love for London
with her passion for film. Moysidis grew
up in Miami and
graduated as the valedictorian of Miami Killian Senior High's Class of
2007. She has been a competitive soccer
player for 17 years, was a member of the Columbia College Women's Division 1
Soccer Team, and is currently training to participate in a marathon. Moysidis speaks English, Greek, and Spanish,
loves to travel, and enjoys spending time with her loud and large Greek
family. She has one older brother,
Stavros, a medical school student at the University of Miami.
Martha Turewicz, CC 2011
Major: Comparative Literature
Internship Organization: Film London
Martha
Turewicz is a sophomore in Columbia
College, majoring in
Comparative Literature and Society. Her concentration within this major is
coming-of-age stories in England,
France and Germany after
World War II. Since England
is one of the countries she takes a literary interest in, she is very excited
to go to London
this summer. Martha grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago called Lake Forest,
and took a gap year between high school and college, during which she studied
in England and Paris. After she graduates, she hopes to work in the media in
some capacity. She was drawn to the CEO London program partly for this reason;
furthermore, given her experiences working at Avery Library on campus, she is
familiar with and enjoys the sort of archival work she'll be doing at Film
London. On top of this, she's a massive Anglophile.

Mustafa Hameed, CC 2011
Major: Philosophy

Henson Company, Business & Legal Intern
Mustafa, who was born in Pakistan and attended high school in Indianapolis, is a Philosophy major at Columbia. He is an active member of the Columbia International Relations Council and Association (CIRCA) and will serve as Head Delegate of Columbia's Model United Nations team for the 2009-10 school year. He is also an editor of the Journal of Politics & Society, the extension of a journalism career stretching back to middle school. Currently, he is in the process of co-founding a Cricket Club (the sport, not the insect) at Columbia.

Samantha
Seto is a San Francisco native who is currently
attending Columbia
University, majoring in
East Asian Studies with a specialization in Economics. Starting from a young
age, inspired by her mother and father, she has been passionately active in
community service. Sam was featured on the cover of the 2007 Choate Rosemary
Hall Bulletin along with business powerhouses Ivanka Trump and CEO of American
Apparel, Dov Charney, for her entrepreneurial and humanitarian efforts. Recently, she founded the "Columbia West
Coast Connection", a student-run organization that aspires to spread California sunshine to the East Coast through fun-spirited,
social events such as In-N-Out runs, and also through sponsoring career-related
events that link Columbia students
with the professional world. In her free time, she enjoys venturing downtown to
sample Manhattan's variety of delectable food,
as well as strolling in Central Park, and
playing basketball with her friends. She absolutely loves New
York City's energetic vibe, but misses her home of California very dearly!
Daniel Wilkey, SEAS 2011
Major: Computer Science
Internship Organization: ezRez
Daniel, a computer science major from Cape Cod, Massachusetts first started programming during his sophomore year of high school. He was a member of his high school's programming team and competed successfully at a variety of country and state-wide events. Though undeclared his freshman year at Columbia, a trip to Google's New York office quickly reassured him that this was his life's path. He has always been interested in helping others to succeed and first began tutoring in math and science his freshman year of high school. Daniel is currently a calculus tutor for The School of General Studies' Academic Resource Office. Daniel also has gained leadership experience as an intramural and club athletics supervisor at the Dodge Fitness Center. There, he is in charge of coordinating a team of referees and controlling flow of the events form set up until take down. Daniel has done some work as a programming research assistant at the Business and looks forward to his CU In internship as his first official position in his future field.

Ellie Lan, CC 2011
Major: Political Science and Economics
Ellie is from the suburbs of Washington D.C., but originally grew up in Beijing, China. She is currently studying Political Science and Economics. Her two biggest academic interests are Economic Development and Asian Legal Studies. Last summer, Ellie interned at the European Union and worked on numerous projects that called for banking reforms in China. The internship instilled in her a passion for economic development and finance reform. As a proud Columbian, Ellie is passionate about improving student life and activities at Columbia. Last year, she founded Teaconomics, a campus forum where students gather to discuss current events related to economics, finance, and business. On a more personal note, Ellie loves travelling. She spent her past summers backpacking in Asia and is thrilled to explore what Scotland has to offer.
Akhil Mehta, SEAS 2011
Major: Operations Research
Akhil Mehta is a sophomore in in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) at Columbia University majoring in Operations Research with a minor in Economics. He was born in Canada but now lives in New Haven, CT. Akhil has spent the last two years working in asset management and is excited for his first consulting experience. The things that he most looks forward to about EDGE are meeting and working with people from around the world and learning about the Scottish culture. Outside of class, he is the Finance Director of the Columbia Spectator, and also plays water polo for the Columbia Men’s Water Polo Club
Colin Sullivan, CC 2011
Major: Political Science
Colin Sullivan will enter his third year in Columbia College this September and is majoring in Political Science. At Columbia, Colin has participated in an A Capella Group and the New Student Orientation Program, and he is currently a Staff Photographer and an Associate Photo Editor for The Columbia Daily Spectator, a member of the Undergraduate Recruitment Committee, and a coordinator for Project for the Homeless. Colin’s career goals are not set in stone. He is considering working for a few years after graduating Columbia before returning to graduate school. Some of his career-oriented interests include international relations and foreign policy, law, consulting and business. When Colin is not thinking about academics, extracurricular activities or career goals, he enjoys spending time with close friends in addition to golfing and traveling with his parents who live in Connecticut.

Anna Murray, CC 2010
Major: Psychology
Internship Organization: Camp Shalom, Bergen County Y
Anna is a rising senior and Psychology major at Columbia University. During the school year, she works as a Resident Advisor for first-year students, serves as president of CU Road Runners, and conducts research through the Psychology Department's Honors Program. Her coursework in psychology and her research on fetal and infant neurobehavioral development in women who experienced early life trauma have strengthened her interest in studying the developmental origins of psychopathology. After graduation, Anna hopes to obtain a PhD in Clinical Psychology and work with children and adolescents with psychopathology. This summer she will have the opportunity to experience this work by interning for Camp Shalom at the Bergen County Y, where she will develop and implement programming for children with developmental challenges and autism spectrum disorders.
Sarah Taslima, CC 2011
Major: Economics
Internship Organization: The Battery Conservancy
Sarah Taslima is a rising junior in Columbia College. She is a pre-medical student, majoring in Economics. Her other academic interests include Architecture, Italian and Sustainable Development. This summer, Sarah is interning with the Battery Conservancy where she will further explore her interests in architecture and Sustainable Development helping develop new projects at the Conservancy as well as conducting a survey for the visitors to the Battery. At Columbia, Sarah is the co-president of the Buy Key Society. Currently, she is also an intern at the Earth Institute, where she works on funding initiatives. Last summer, Sarah was an intern at the Dining Section of the New York Times.
