VIP Application Process
Eligibility
You must be a current enrolled student at Columbia College, The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science or the School of General Studies and be able to commit to working 10-20 hours per week for ten or more weeks in a virtual internship.
Students who are studying abroad are encouraged to apply. Interviews will be conducted over the phone or Skype. Please indicate that you are studying abroad in your cover letter.
**Please note, by submitting an application, you authorize the Center for Career Education to conduct academic, disciplinary and financial aid checks to confirm program eligibility and inform funding decisions. Certain University policy violations may disqualify you from consideration for the Virtual Internship Program.
How to Apply
All VIP 2012 internships will be posted in LionSHARE during the Fall 2011 semester. Search "VIP" in the "Job Search" section to locate all program opportunities. You may apply to up to three (3) positions of interest.
There are three required components to the application:
- Resume
- Cover Letter
- Transcript (can be unofficial). Please note that if you are a first year student, you may submit a high school transcript and current class registration.
These must be submitted through LionSHARE for each position of interest. Submit your completed applications via LionSHARE by November 6, 2011.

First round-interviews with CCE for internship position(s)
December 5 -December 10, 2011
Final-round interviews with employers (in person, phone, or video/teleconference)

Offers made to candidates

Students will participate in pre-program skills development training
