Spring 2012 Workshops for Alumni
Interviewing with Confidence
Wednesday, April 18, 6:00-7:30 PM
Alumni Welcome Center
622 West 113th Street, NY
King's Conference Room, 1st Floor
Interviewing for a job can be extremely stressful. A lot is on the line—after all, this is where you will either get the job offer or not. The good news is that you can reduce the stress and improve your chances by anticipating the questions and being super-prepared. It’s highly unlikely that you’ll be asked a question that’s never been asked before.
In this very interactive workshop you will learn to deal with the questions that candidates find to be most difficult such as: “Tell me about yourself,” or ”What weakness do you have?” We will discuss the importance of preparing illustrative stories that put you in the best possible light. We will also talk about the best possible questions you can ask the interviewer at the end of the interview.
This will be an interactive workshop where you will get actual practice in being interviewed. To help us prepare for that, please send your resume and an actual job description of a job that you are interested in to Don Goldstein, dg2662@columbia.edu, at least one week prior to the workshop.
This workshop is open to alumni and graduate students; please sign up now as registration is limited. At the end of the workshop participants will receive a guide with answers to typical interview questions. Light
refreshments will be served.

Four Consecutive Wednesdays, May 2, May 9, May 16, and May 23, 12-1PM (ET)
Meet via Webinar
Do you feel it may be time for a career change but are not sure what you would do? In this workshop, participants assess their values, skills, interests, talents, and personality traits through helpful discussions, exercises, and career tools, including the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and consider how your results can apply to the working world.
